I just bought a drawing tablet, the Deco 01 V2 by XP-Pen, because I wanted to try digital drawing. I used to draw with a mouse and I used to dream about owning one of those Wacom tablets. I forgot about that for a long time, but now I'm seeing these cheaper alternatives that are just as good as the Wacoms so I decided to try one. I settled on the Deco 01 V2 model because of the good feedback from many artists on YouTube, the reasonable price and the big size.
When I first tried it on Autodesk Sketchbook, it felt so big and I couldn't get that hand-eye coordination thing going, even if I'm able to use a mouse well. I was finally able to get those sketches above on my fourth try. A few more tries and I'll probably be able to use it as I would a pencil. After that I'll have to figure out how to use it as I would a brushpen, which is my main drawing tool.
The feet studies were done following JW Learning's Drawing Feet course on Skillshare. I signed up for a year of Skillshare in order to take advantage of excellent figure drawing courses such as this and many more. If you're curious and want to try it yourself, get a free two-week trial of Skillshare with this link. (Disclosure: If you decide to sign up for the Premium access, I'll get a month free. Thank you.)
That's it for now. I'll be back with more studies/sketches next time. Happy drawing!
